We open with this series of articles on the more curious, often not even edifying, Italianess. All this, in the intentions of the writer, should have an ironic about it but if not respected will not know that was a little respect for the player but only an excess of civil and political passion to cause the hitch.
The Italian, as we understand it myself, is that accumulation of positive and negative characteristics that distinguish a people, the Italian just from the rest of the human species and is especially a set of attitudes, ways of thinking, living and to interact with others that are not easily reflected in other socio-cultural national. If it is true that in our Italian is the secret of our greatness as a people, it is equally true that it is faith that the thousand miseries and wretchedness of our (very Italian) individuality.
Ciampi and 55 years (the others ...).
Imagine an American president, but it could be English, German or Dutch, who at 85 years and after a political career took place at the highest level, he gets the position of senator for life due to his past and in this case to its mandate as President of the Republic. Of course it is just an example so we'll pretend that the differences in constitutional structure does not exist and that even in the U.S., Germany or the Netherlands will is the same organization of the State that is in Italy. He, our hypothetical ex-president, was also head of the Government, a minister and even the Governor of the Bank of Italy. After this career, and certainly built with relentless consistency meritorious, but just as certainly come down to very late age, intellectual honesty would have imposed an appropriate silence about certain issues such as the age of retirement from active politics. We are confident that in another country, civil, maybe in one of those cited above, this would happen. And now look: we are in Italy and then, once esauritesi the possibilities for the character in anything but hypothetical question again become prime minister Minister or because of advanced age, he feels compelled to dictate rules regarding the conduct of the life cycles of the strange being who is the 'homo politicus , even requires absolutely premature retirement age for: 55 years, some 30 less than his current stay on this planet. And while this rise rumors for the good of nations finances and the future of our hapless generation after the First Republic, in favor of raising the retirement age ...* So, according to our illustrious personage, a judge, lawyer, a doctor, a plumber should be able to remain active much longer than those who, cunning, has chosen policy and then play "service of services", what if well done, facilitates the performance of all others. Instead it should pull back just when the force is still more than enough physical meets the experience, though never enough to the contrary in an absolute sense, it is now sufficient to deal with everyday problems concerning safety, the dangers and obligations of politics and thus employment of public affairs. Right now should hear the Prayer, a car deciding to self-annihilation ... This would solve the problems of Italian politics: a continuous supply of men in mind the value of the same, not the experience acquired over many years, not able to mediate the knowledge that so long grown naturally have won, but only age. Better, then, incapable of a 45 years that a great man of 65? All this reminds me a lot of publicity Vulture raging on our screens in this hot summer, the expression of a rejection of the natural aging clearly symptomatic of a malaise typical of the social and cultural sated but desperate welfare society.
We, in our small, although not presidents, ministers, or senators for life (which, we do not deny, we facilitate not just there ...) we think the chronic illness, and serious, affecting policy Italian is not curable only by action tending to a general lowering of the age of entry, not exit that is very different, into the political arena, a fall which we are very favorable, however. We believe rather that the real solution of the problem, now improcrastinabile view of the desperate condition in which Italian politics, is to make pure definition of virtual reality and not the one above, just on the political services of the service. Service to the community, the individual really need, which is not a number but a person, service to the nation. If the policy does not even come close to being part of this, so without a real change of culture and mentality, any legislative change set will be a demagogic palliative for the consumption of the public to meet, but the problem remains seamless and the disease with no cure, with all the consequences.
Thanks to our dear and so very Italian ex-President for the advice and recommendation disinterested. However, we believe that it should have thought of that before. Maybe even seven or eight years ago ...
