Joseph, president of Friends of the Yellow, has just published a book of reviews. Exactly, you

■ beds for you: a book of reviews of works by emerging authors and writers already well established and known to the public. What is the common thread that unites almost eighty reviews published? The red wire is

From contact with many writers, more or less known, gave rise to this publication is intended not only as a guide for readers but also the "memory" of many historical books published and, unfortunately, often "eaten up" in the overcrowded shelves of our libraries more and more "containers". I would say that the "yellow wire" is nothing but the desire to renew and perpetuate the memory of many wonderful books, with an invitation to read or reread.

" What is your opinion, the function of the review today?
In the literature of the world today are missing some of the figures. First the writers are missing the "masters" or those who were more personality tendency and school, they coalesce around many authors, so many styles, many literary reasons.
Today the figure of the teacher was abolished, the young authors feel now arrived, almost annoying if you ask them what were their reference writers.
The phenomenon is not easily explained, because who is also deputy to do so, or the literary critic, has also disappeared.

Yet the history of yellow, especially the Italian, owes much to the figure of the "reviewer." Almost two thousand years since the sixties to the journalists, critics, historians, fans have drawn the yellow line in Italy, advising, encouraging, criticizing, just letting people know in a continuous movement qualitative and quantitative growth. ■ What are the criteria on which to write reviews?

I always start with a brief mention of the plot, based on the principle that the reader has not read the book and therefore it provides a brief description of the history of which you speak. As in a book review in the incipit is also important to give you the desire to read on.

■ since 2004 a weekly broadcast on TV Free Pistoia where writers take turns to crime fiction in all its meanings. Do you think that the media has more power television broadcast or the written word?
definitely has more power television media, everybody, known and unknown, willingly accepted to appear. Television can make yourself known by the masses, but it is difficult to exercise "critical" from the small screen. This function can only respond to the written word.
■ The success of a novel, especially if it is by a newcomer, it can also result from word of mouth among readers as well as by favorable reviews? In today's day
word of mouth or word of mouth works, especially if you are referring to electronic means. Facebook, Twitter vehicles are important because they make you known to a wide audience that is well know that he wrote and published a book. I would say that is a "promotional" by the works of the most famous, "essential" in the sense of running your name and your book for beginners.
Success is something else, is the sum of many factors: advertising, television appearances, meetings with the public, .... Locations on the shelves of libraries.

What do you think of the web?
I am in the print media, working old-fashioned pen and notepad, but I also believe that the reviewer can regain its role if it is known, if his word is disseminated, circulated. Only then can buy a sequel, can review. So what are circles in the newspapers or on the web is indifferent.
How would you describe your book?
A sort of "guide Michelin" of detective novels published in recent years.
